The project that has waited the longest for its time to shine… The Colony has won Charlotte Business Journal’s Heavy Hitter Award for Best Apartment/Condominium Development.
In the heart of SouthPark is Synco Properties’ 27-acre redevelopment project, The Colony. The first phase includes a sophisticated five-story apartment building with gorgeous leasing and amenity spaces designed to reflect a boutique hotel vibe. The project totaled $115 million. Synco has owned The Colony’s 27 acres along Colony Road, between Sharon and Roxborough roads, since the 1970s and has been plotting the vision for the development, in partnership with Schlosser Development Corp., for well over a decade. The master plan calls for a three-phased approach that includes a total of 990 residential units, 55 of which will be affordable housing, 300,000 square feet of retail space anchored by Publix, 250,000 square feet of office space and a 225-room hotel.
